From April to June 2012, Shakespeare’s Globe brought theatre companies from around the world to perform all 37 of Shakespeare’s plays in 37 languages. The Globe to Globe season was part of the World Shakespeare Festival for the London 2012 Festival.

THE COMPANY

Compagnia Itermini was founded in 2002 by Andrea Baracco, director and adaptor of this production.

THE PLAY

Swayed by the charismatic Cassius into believing Caesar wants to turn Rome into a monarchy, Marcus Brutus is talked into an assassination plot. In spite of the conspirators’ claims that they acted for Rome, Mark Anthony rouses the people to banish the killers from the city, leading to a bloody war in this contemporary reimagining of the Roman story.
