CountryBoy’s Struggle: Contact’s new series of storytelling music videos which mix hip-hop and comedy, to tell the story of Michael Crompton, a man on a journey to become an MC – from the cliffs of Cornwall to the streets of London. Get a flavour of the fun to come in this short film and follow the plot on The Space every Thursday from 5 July.

Written and starring Maxwell Golden, who plays over 40 characters in this tour-de-force performance, the series explores the tensions between what is meant by ‘rural’ and ‘urban’ and attempts to create a bridge between these two worlds. Countryboys Struggle: Online directed by Baba Israel, Artistic Director of Contact and Richard Ramchurn of Albino Mosquito with music by Danbeats.

In 2011, CountryBoy’s Struggle toured to both rural communities and theatre studios across the UK, with rave reviews from schools, colleges, theatres and village halls.
