Spill: A Playground of Dance captures the show by Birmingham’s DanceXchange, choreographed by Shaun Parker, which has been touring playgrounds across the West Midlands and beyond.

Combining quirky, dynamic dance with high energy street gymnastics, the dancers blaze a colourful trail across the structures and landscapes of the playground.

Using children’s playground equipment as the set, a story unfolds, touching on themes of trickery, love, conflict and friendship. Highly playful and physical, and at times teasingly comical – this is a cheeky dance celebration of the child within.

Swing is the first film in the series of 10 films capturing the performance. With precision and detailed choreography, four dancers use each and every part of the quad swing apparatus.

It is a fast-paced, high energy performance involving themes of unity, juxtaposition and danger.
