For digital artist Simon McKeown, the movement of disabled people is something to be celebrated, promoting diversity and difference.

Taking the motion of the modern day disabled athlete, the Paralympian, he uses Hollywood technology to create avatars and animations to showcase their unique ways of being. Motion Disabled: Unlimited invites you to find the beauty, the exotic and the normal within their movements and physical form.

This year, his work stretches in new directions using 3D software to create a large inflatable sculpture of a disabled athlete, motion captured animations for presentation on public screens and a smart phone application, continuing to explore McKeown’s interest in the borders between normality and difference, aiming to create a cultural shift in how society views impairment.

See how his story continues with in the Push Me Collection: The Journey.
