V&A Museum: Jason Singh
Supersonix is an international celebration of the art and science of sound in all its complexity. It is the first major project in the area following completion of the landmark £28m Exhibition Road redevelopment scheme in London’s South Kensington throughout 2012. It has led academic and mainstream public audiences on a journey through experiments, lectures, workshops and interactive technology within and around the Exhibition Road cultural quarter’s world-famous colleges, museums, concert halls, cultural institutes, historic buildings and research centres.
Jason Singh was the Supersonix artist in residence at the Victoria and Albert Museum. His creative repertoire includes beatboxing, vocal sculpting, sound art, dj-ing, poetry, percussion, composition and workshop facilitation.
His aim was to create new sound work using the Iranian, Afghanistan and Middle Eastern collections as his inspiration.
