Watch the new work by world famous choreographer Michael Clark which celebrates the Glasgow Barrowland Ballroom, once the city’s premier dance hall and now a revered rock music venue.

The Barrowlands Project accentuates the communal experience of dance. More than forty local people with personal ties to this Glasgow landmark were invited to become performers alongside the company’s dancers.

The Aberdeenshire-born choreographer, once the enfant terrible of modern dance, is now 50 but his new recruits range in age from late teens to mid-sixties.

This was streamed live on The Space on 9th September.

The Barrowlands Project is part of the London 2012 Festival. Supported by Creative Scotland and produced by Michael Clark Company, Glasgow Life and Dance House Glasgow.
