Time & Place: Bradford's South Asian communities

A hidden collection of pictures rescued from a skip depicts a story of hopes and dreams.

A collection of photographs from Bradford’s Belle Vue Studio forms the basis of Fabric’s Time & Place project.

For decades, migrants from South Asia went there to have their pictures taken which were sent back home. This series follows the stories of some of these migrants, who often came to work in Bradford’s mills. It also looks at how the community has made its culture part of Bradford society, and how it has fared in recent decades.
