Tongue Fu Flicks
Tongue Fu is about risk taking; coaxing performers, band and audience to leap before they look. It’s raw, unrehearsed and spontaneous. Tongue Fu Flicks is an experiment: an attempt to bring that spirit of spontaneous creation to The Space.
Tongue Fu hosted a live recording event at the Albany in Depford, London in June 2012. Each poet performed one piece, with live improvised music. They also performed solo, to camera. The musicians in the Tongue Fu Band then recorded an instrumental response to each poem.
These recordings have been used to shape six bespoke collage animations by East London design studio CR&D. You can choose to simply watch the full show performance, or if you’re inquisitive, use the player to select different combinations of performance, film, audio, animation and text.
